- Cherry Plum is a dense, thorny deciduous native hedge with edible fruit, which has been grown since the 1700s
- The dark green foliage is almost completely covered in white flowers in the spring, followed by tasty little cherry-sized, plum shaped fruits which can be made into jams, jellies and liqueurs
- A fully hardy hedge which will reach a height of approx 5m but can easily be maintained at 1-4m
- Cherry Plum will grow well in all soils including clay and chalk. It will thrive even in windy and exposed areas
- A low maintenance plant which due to its density is perfect for screening and as a windbreak. Traditionally used to surround orchards, it makes a good barrier due to its thorns - birds also love to nest in it!
- An excellent source of nectar to attract pollinators to your garden
