- As a cordon cultivar, ‘Gardener’s Delight’ requires staking and tying-in; something like a sturdy bamboo cane works perfectly.
- Prune away the 'suckers' – the stems that grow in between the 'armpit' of the main stem and the lateral stems – as and when you see them. This leaves you with your primary stem, the one tied into your cane, and strong side leaves (typically branching off at a 90° angle).
